  2. I thought the comment about the Eagle painting done by Soo was interesting because the senior students were able to relate the image of an Eagle with United States of America. I strongly agree with the idea of freedom represented through this painting because the bold features of the eagle as well as the dull background emphasizes on the stern look of the eagle. I thought Eagle represented the present and future America and the focus of the gaze from the eagle seemed to focus on the idea of looking forward. Also, the painting itself was very realistic and outstanding!

  4. It was interesting to see how students could relate some of the paintings to their own lives. For example, Inwon connected that particular painting to the fact that he plays instruments and how it relates to material he learn in Environmental Science. That might not have been the exact message that the painter attempted to portray, but nevertheless it brought up a thought from a viewer. This could be one of the purposes for paintings: to spark a thought to whoever looks at it. It was also interesting to see how different people interpreted the same painting. For example, the painting of the heart came to me in a different meaning, but after listening to the comment about representing darkness, I realized that that could be true as well. So it was cool to see how art could be interpreted in different ways but how all of those views could be true at the same time.
